Is it tacky to use disposable utensils and plates at my wedding?
First, you should know that our view here at Hamilton Wedding Finishing is that your wedding should reflect you and be exactly what you want. Period. This is one of the reasons we love DIY Brides so much; they know what they want and they go for it regardless of the trends.
What really matters in the case of table settings is what works best for your situation. If a caterer can provide china that you like (and don’t have to clean later) then we think it’s a fantastic idea.
But what if your wedding is better suited to something different? Let’s take a look at a couple of options for table settings at your wedding.
A Backyard picnic or BBQ.
Why not go with sturdy, but simple paper plates. They make them in a huge variety of colors and prints. (All photos of products are Amazon affiliate links. Click for more information about the product*.)
Better yet, use these biodegradable, birch wood plates that are eco-friendly and affordable!
A catered dinner, but serving ware is not provided by the caterer.
We had this situation at a recent wedding where the caterer was a food truck (so fun!) but they were not able to bring tableware, and the Bride and Groom were not interested in taking home 50 sets of china and silverware to wash later. I mean, can you blame them?
They opted for this amazing product: Plastic serving-ware that looks like china.
There are so many options out there for any style wedding!
Don’t forget chargers, silverware, and napkins. (We like the disposable cloth-like napkins the best!)
With the right products your guests will never guess your wedding tablescape is disposable, and it will be beautiful and unique just like you!
