Kaylen and Dylan’s December Texas Hill Country Wedding at the Marquardt Ranch.

I was so honored to be the Day-of Coordinator for Kaylen and Dylan’s wedding day at the Marquardt Ranch in Boerne, TX. It was a beautiful, cool December day along the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country.

Before the weddingKaylen and Dylan Engaged

I met Kaylen through the San Antonio Rising Tide Society’s monthly gathering, Tuesdays Together. The holidays were quickly arriving and she just knew her engagement was coming soon. She was right! A few days later, Dylan popped the question, and Kaylen said, “Thank you!” and, of course, “Yes!” and these high school sweethearts set the date for December 2017!

The Planning

Now, Kaylen was an AMAZING DIY Bride! Her spreadsheets and organization were impeccable, and, quite honestly, put mine to shame. She had everything planned down to the smallest details.

Soon it was time for my pre-wedding consultation meeting with Kaylen, Dylan, and Kaylen’s parents, Gary and Diane. I often hold my pre-wedding meetings at the bride’s home or her parents’ home because it encourages a relaxed atmosphere for discussion and decision-making. Diane and Gary were gracious enough to invite me to their home and we had a great meeting. An organized bride makes me so happy!

Picture perfect wedding day

Come wedding day, everything was picture perfect! No, really, these are amazing photos by Erica Sofet Photography!

The Details

I love the small, personal details that are important to a big day. From earrings, to perfume, to a guitar pic, they all play a role and become sentimental treasures.

Getting Ready

Kaylen and the bridal party spent the morning getting ready together in the Marquardt’s bridal suite. Kaylen had a surprise guest hanging out on her veil – a ladybug! Along with being a good luck charm, ladybugs have a special meaning to Kaylen’s mom.  It was a special moment with tears and fond memories of loved ones.

The guys enjoyed their morning getting ready, too! After a little football throwing in the parking lot, they headed upstairs to the Marquardt’s groom’s suite to watch football, grab a drink, and hang out. Before long it was time to get ready!

The First Look

Kaylen was glowing waiting for Dylan to see her for the first time!

I mean, can they get any cuter?

The wedding party joined them for a few pictures and before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to start. The gentlemen and ladies each headed upstairs to their respective rooms to pray together and get ready for the grand entrance!

The Ceremony

Kaylen and Dylan had a beautiful ceremony with music by Denbigh Cherry and officiated by Rev. Dr. Chuck Thebeau of Christ our King Anglican Church in New Braunfels. Fr. Chuck’s service was full of personal touches and biblical teaching about marriage. Having someone who has been your spiritual leader for many years makes a ceremony very intimate and special, even with a room full of people.

The Reception

Following the ceremony, while guests enjoyed happy hour on the patio, The Marquardt team and I did a quick change of the room, adding tables for dinner. The centerpieces were made by the Marquardt’s florist, and the table signs and menus were made by Kaylen! (Kaylen owns Light and Life Designs – go check out her amazing work!)

Following dinner (provided by the Marquardt Ranch,) there were speeches, dancing, and, of course, delicious cake!

DJ Cathy with Hill Country Entertainment and Sound had all of the guests up and dancing and having fun all evening long!

Kaylen and Dylan, it was my absolute pleasure to assist you guys on your best day ever! Thank you for choosing HWF!      ~Darcy
