What happens when a nursing professor marries an engineer? They throw a pretty fantastic party! #powercouple
Taylor and Adam were married on November 3rd, 2018, at the beautiful Gardens at West Green in San Antonio, TX. Thanks to Sarah with Whitewood Photography for sharing these beautiful photos of the day!
Popping the Question
Taylor and Adam got engaged in May 2017 in the Dominican Republic. They were celebrating Taylor receiving her master’s degree, and Adam brought an engagement ring with him. After a late-night walk on the beach, Adam popped the question, and the wedding planning began!
Planning
When Taylor and I first spoke in February of 2018, she was looking for a day-of wedding coordinator and found me through a local Facebook group. Taylor had a clear vision of an elegant garden party, and she knew that she wanted to be able to step away from all of the details on her wedding day and be able to relax and enjoy the day.
Taylor and I met for the first time at our pre-wedding meeting. We had dinner at Panera and discussed all of the details for the wedding. We finalized a timeline, drew a layout for the venue, discussed the setup, and worked out the best ceremony order for their wedding.
The Big Day
Soon it was November 3rd, and we had absolutely perfect weather for Taylor and Adam’s wedding! After unloading their decor, my assistant Eva and I began setup at the Gardens while Taylor and her wedding party spent time getting hair and makeup done by Vixen Hair and Makeup, and the guys spent some time goofing off!
Ceremony
Taylor and Adam were married on the lawn at the Gardens of West Green by Brad O’Neil with Queen of Hearts surrounded by their friends and family. The beautiful floral installation by Megan and her team at Reiley + Rose Floral and Design was the perfect backdrop!
Following the ceremony, their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with passed hors-d’oeuvres by Little Muse Catering, and drinks by Shelly with Unique Event Services, while the family and wedding party took pictures. A BBQ dinner catered by Smoke Shack, one of Taylor and Adam’s favorite places to eat in San Antonio, started off the reception.
After dinner, there were toasts given by their family and friends with memories shared and well wishes for the couple, then Adam and Taylor cut their beautiful cake by Betty Jane’s Bakeshoppe.
It was time for dancing to begin, so Taylor and Adam kicked off the party with a first dance under the arches. After dancing with their parents, DJ John Work turned up the beat and packed the dancefloor!
The party always ends too soon, and it was time to send off Taylor and Adam with sparklers!
Thank you so much, Taylor and Adam, for allowing me to assist you on your big day! It was an honor to serve you and your families and friends.
Top 5 for sure 😉
Be sure to check out all of Taylor and Adam’s amazing vendors!
